The 4.5 mile Twin Cities Rail Trail project received a grant from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ Gateway City Parks program. The trail will connect the downtowns of Leominster and Fitchburg and provide access to Carter Park, Pine Grove Cemetery, Doyle Field, the Clinton Hospital, and the Water Tower Plaza Shopping Center.  Construction on Phase 1 in Leominster & Fitchburg was completed in 2022.
